So, on Monday, my baby was one month old. I don’t know where the time has gone. It’s gone so quickly, it seems like it was just yesterday I was in the delivery suite, yet, it feels like he has always been here.
I’m completely in love. After everything we have been through over the last two years, I feel as though this is my happy ending.
Jake goes from giving him cuddles and kisses and being protective over him, to wanting me to pass him to someone else so I can make him a drink/take him to the toilet/go with him on the slide at soft play. And then he goes and covers him in stickers.
Zack has had to have a hip ultrasound. There was no clicky hip when the paediatrician examined him, but because when Jake was born he had a clicky hip and also had to have a scan, protocol says that Zack had to as well. He went for his scan last week and it showed an immature/shallow hip, so he has to be scanned again in 4 weeks time. If it still shows as immature/shallow, then he will have to be referred to the Children’s Hospital. The sonographer was sure to point out to us that it was not dislocated and that it may well right itself before his next scan. Jake had exactly the same, and was fine for his second scan, so I hope Zack will be the same.
He also has a birthmark on his chest. It wasn’t there at birth but has appeared in the weeks since. We have shown it to the midwife and the health visitor and neither are overly concerned. I think it’s a Hemangioma (strawberry birthmark) and felt a little bit sick when I realised it was a tumour, however, it’s a benign tumour. From what I have read, they get bigger before the get smaller but generally go by the time the child is ten.
Has anyone ever had experience of these?
